Call For Papers: Christian Faith and Economics Education

Faith & Economics, the journal of the Association of Christian Economists, invites submissions for a special issue on the topic of:

Christian Faith and Economics Education

The practice of teaching economics warrants careful reflection and study, and we can all learn from the best practices of other teachers. Even more, those who work to bring a particular Christian tradition to bear in their teaching will find a wealth of integrative scholarship, but little that is focused on teaching. Even less work is focused on the broader practices of higher education. This is a particularly difficult period for higher education in the United States, and so it is appropriate for us to turn our scholarly attention toward the institutions that we serve, and the practice of teaching.

For this special issue, we welcome two types of submissions.

Research Articles: First, we seek research articles that explore these (or related) topics:

  • Economics pedagogy, or economics education
  • Economic literacy
  • Integrating economics and theology in the classroom
  • Integrating economics and ethics in the classroom
  • Christian higher education
  • The place of Christianity in the classroom or university at secular institutions

Research articles will be subject to our normal standard of double-blind peer review.

Pedagogical Case Studies: For those with innovative ideas or classroom practices, we also welcome shorter case studies (1500 to 3000 words) in which you highlight a method of integration between economics and Christian theology, history, or ethics. These case studies will be subject to review by the editorial board.

Deadline & Submissions: Submissions should be submitted by October 15th 2021. All submissions should be sent to Steven McMullen by email at editor@christianeconomists.org.
