Religions – Special Issue on “Social Entrepreneurship from a Christian Perspective” – Call for Papers

Dear fellow scholars:

We are excited to announce that the journal Religions has agreed to do a Special Issue on the topic of “Social Entrepreneurship from a Christian Perspective.” As indicated in the journal’s announcement (see link below), our aim is to stimulate new research and knowledge-sharing from scholars around the world. We are interested in papers from various perspectives relating to the theory, practice, and theology of what many people fondly refer to as “business as mission” (BAM) or Faith Based Social Entrepreneurship. Religions is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access journal and indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, so the potential for impact and visibility is very high. Normally, the journal charges fees for article processing, but the journal waived the fee for this special issue. So, this is a unique opportunity to advance BAM research together and put BAM on the radar of the broader academic community. More information is available at

Submissions received on or before May 31, 2021 will be double-blind, peer-reviewed, and will be published immediately once accepted. If you’d like to discuss an idea for a paper, please email Dr. Steve Rundle ( with the title, a short abstract (100-200 words) and an estimate for when the paper will be ready for review.
